MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 to Launch Data Room Connecting Investors with Regional Upstream Opportunities

MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 to Launch Data Room Connecting Investors with Regional Upstream Opportunities

MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 will introduce the MSGBC Data Room, a technically led showcase connecting investors and project developers with upstream opportunities across West Africa. The inaugural platform will provide direct, visual and data-driven access to onshore and offshore exploration blocks, geological basin information and partnership opportunities.

The Data Room will debut on December 3 at the Strategic Conference Main Stage in Dakar. Its launch forms part of the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 conference and exhibition, taking place from December 1–3 under the theme “Powering Investment, Delivering Prosperity: Executing the Region’s Energy Strategy.”

The Data Room arrives as exploration and development activity generates new information across one of West Africa’s closely watched petroleum regions. Producing assets, expanding seismic libraries and evolving national oil company portfolios are creating a broader foundation for evaluating prospective acreage, while governments continue to position upstream resources for investment and partnerships.

TGS has expanded the seismic coverage available to companies evaluating the MSGBC margin through regional multi-client datasets. Its Mauritania MegaSurvey, launched in December 2025, covers more than 101,500 km² of new and reprocessed 3D seismic data, providing extensive coverage of deepwater and ultra-deepwater geological systems.

The company’s Jaan 3D project comprises a merged 28,300-km² multi-client seismic volume covering offshore Senegal, The Gambia and Guinea-Bissau. The dataset provides a regional framework for examining geological continuity and prospectivity across national boundaries, supporting companies assessing exploration opportunities along the southern MSGBC margin.

SLB has also contributed to the region’s subsurface data infrastructure through its work with national authorities and seismic data partners. In Guinea-Conakry, a National Seismic Data Visualization Center established with SLB and TGS centralizes approximately 15,000 km² of 3D data and 45,000 km² of 2D data.

The facility reflects a wider effort to improve access to subsurface information and strengthen national control over petroleum data. By consolidating seismic datasets and visualization capabilities, such initiatives provide governments, operators and potential partners with a more structured basis for assessing acreage and preparing exploration decisions.

The Data Room will provide a dedicated setting for examining these developments alongside available project and licensing information. Its focus on direct access to geological insights, block portfolios and partnership opportunities is intended to support more informed engagement between investors, technical companies, national oil companies and project developers.

Against this backdrop, MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 will give investors a concentrated view of where exploration and development capital is being directed across the basin. For more information about the event, or to sponsor or participate as a delegate, visit MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power.
