Louise-Olivia Djibo Brings SLB’s Regional Technology Strategy to MSGBC Conference

Louise-Olivia Djibo Brings SLB’s Regional Technology Strategy to MSGBC Conference

Louise-Olivia Djibo, Country Manager for Ivory Coast, Senegal and Mauritania at SLB, will participate as a speaker at MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026, bringing a regional technology and project-execution perspective to a basin entering a new phase of oil and gas development.

Djibo’s participation comes following the expansion of her SLB mandate to include Senegal and Mauritania alongside Ivory Coast. The three markets are becoming increasingly connected through major offshore developments, LNG projects and emerging gas infrastructure, creating opportunities for technology providers supporting complex deepwater operations.

In Senegal and Mauritania, the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project has established the two countries as LNG producers, while further developments are being advanced across the basin. Senegal’s Yakaar-Teranga gas project represents another major resource opportunity, with development plans focused on supplying domestic industry and power generation alongside potential export markets.

Ivory Coast is undergoing a similar expansion. SLB’s OneSubsea joint venture secured an EPC contract from Eni in July 2026 for Phase 3 of the Baleine field, covering subsea production systems for 13 wells. The project forms part of efforts to increase Baleine production while supplying gas Ivory Coast’s domestic energy system.

The country is also advancing the Calao Channel Complex following Eni’s major Murene South-1X discovery in February. The discovery added another significant gas and condensate resource to Ivory Coast’s offshore portfolio and could create further demand for drilling, subsea and reservoir technologies as appraisal and development work progresses.

Across these projects, Djibo’s regional strategy places digitalization alongside technical execution. SLB is deploying cloud-based platforms such as DrillPlan and DrillOps to connect well planning, drilling and operational workflows, with the company highlighting the potential to reduce planning timelines and improve project efficiency.

Local capability is another priority. Djibo has promoted technical skills development, local content and partnerships with educational institutions, supporting greater participation by West African professionals in digital energy operations. Her work has also included advocacy for women in STEM and initiatives aimed at expanding access to technical education.

The sustainability dimension is becoming more relevant as new offshore projects move toward development. SLB’s technology portfolio includes solutions for methane management, emissions reduction and more efficient well operations, while projects such as Baleine are being developed around lower-emissions operating models.

MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 will take place from December 1–3 at CICAD in Dakar, Senegal, bringing together energy companies, investors, governments and technology providers as the region develops its next generation of oil, gas and power projects.
